A day for the dogs.
Man’s best friend is required to stay home for most Museum events, but for one special day in May 2015, the Toledo Museum of Art went to the dogs with “K9 May 9: A Day for the Dogs.” An estimated 300 people attended the free event, which was held in conjunction with the special exhibition Best in Show: Animal Illustrations from the Mazza Collection.
Visitors could meet adoptable pets from over a dozen area animal rescues or bring along their own furry family members for special programs designed just for them, including dog-friendly hands-on art projects, sculpture garden tours, story time featuring children’s books highlighted in Best in Show and wiener dog races.
